Inability in every respect and complete (2 panel painting)

“Lineage. Freeing myself from the freighted tyranny of painting by inserting myself into the lineage of Baroque painting. I render the initial drawing in the same method Rubens did, with sepia chalk, then thin oil and turps on Belgian linen sized with rabbit skin glue. The paintings are sutured, as so many of his are.”

- Excerpts from Howe’s writing on ‘All of the Susanna’s’.
